What's your favorite part of 'Requiem' k. 626 ??? [10 Sep 2004|12:44am]

christinemozart
Just curious : )
Mines is:

"Oro supplex et acclinis,
Cor contritum quasi cinis
Gere curam mei finis"

in the Confutatis

If you need the lyrics to the Requiem they're here http://www.amadeusimmortal.com/cgi-bin/vsDynamic.pl?site=1984&id=bts_requiem

Just saying hi *waves*
I've been an avid *coughObsessedcough* Mozart and Amadeus fan for almost a year, around October.
I, like mozartfan1313, am from Toronto, Canada and am 20.
I co-run an Amadeus/Mozart web site in my spare time www.AmadeusImmortal.com
*cheers*

Hi, my name is Skye, I'm 17 years old, and I live in a small Tennessee town. I am new to the community. My best friend Kayleigh (powerballad) invited me to join, and I figured Why not?!
I first became interested in Mozart when we watched Amadeus in my music class when I was ten years old (I love that movie), and I heard a couple of songs by Mozart on an album of spiritual music that we had but I've seemed to have misplaced (wow..that sucks...).
I've already acquired more knowledge over the years about Mozart that most through Kay, and I recently did a detailed research paper on him (WHICH I got an A on :-)) for English class. I usually hate stuff like that, but it was a really cool process seeing as how it was a subject I was interested in.
Well...just wantd to introduce myself :-) Bye now.
<3 Skye

I don't know if anybody else is going to get this on PBS, but where I am (Montana) there's a Mozart thingy thing at 5:00. Actually I'm not entirely sure what it is, or even if it's about Mozart, but it has his name in the title! So I'm assuming it is.

Anyhoo, that was just about the most useless post in the history of the universe, but I thought I'd mention it. For those of you who have a watching-TV-on-Sunday-evenings fetish. 'Cause I do. X3

Hello! I'm not new to the journal scene, but I'm new to LJ, and I went searching for communities and came across this one. Seems like a good one. I've been a fan of Mozart and his works for a few years now, and love and own Amadeus but don't think it gives an accurate enough description of who the man really was. I'm pretty sure everyone on here would agree. ^^

Well, my real name is Kayleigh, I'll be 18 in December, and I live in a small town in Tennessee. Is anyone else from Tennessee?

I was just interested to know what you guys think of this.

A few weeks ago, a new production of the Die Entführung aus dem Serail was opened in Berlin.  The directer (Calixto Bieito) made a pretty good attempt at bringing sex and controversy to the forefront of the whole thing - full frontal nudity and "sadistic violence".

Hurrah?!

The premiere was apparently not taken very well (I know, even with those frisky Germans XD!) and apparently "THAT'S NOT MOZART!"

Discuss. Is it Mozart? I'm not sure what this "sadistic violence" refers to but as for the full-frontal nudity thing... I reckon Mozart would have liked that if he could have gotten away with it ;)

Ladeeda....

So, I just got a copy of the 'Amadeus' DVD (since I lost my old one) & I'm so happy to be able to watch it again! There are so many great parts in the film. Do you guys have any favorite parts of the film? I can't say I have a #1 favorite scene, but I especially like the parts when he is composing his operas. I don't know why but I always love watching those scenes.

Peace & Love
♥ Molly

I just have to say that I find Symphony No. 29 in A Major to be a very encouraging song. I honestly don't know why, but for some reason this song just speaks to me. Something about it always makes me feel like anything is possible. It also tells me that there are those that won't be around your entire life, but they still encourage you and hope for the best. I honestly don't know how I got such a specific feeling from the this symphony, but I love it. Does anyone else feel this way about Symphony No. 29 in A Major?

Hello!  Excitedness!  I joined a while back but I'm a wimp so never posted ^.^!

Well I'm 20, behave like a child and have loved Mozart since I was very small. Like, 4 when I started playing the piano. My parents introduced us (personally of course) by listening to Classic FM back in the day when they played good stuff.  Anywhoo, I have a bunch of tapes from when I was wee that I can't bear to throw away even though a) they don't work and b) I have it all on CD!  Yes, there's a word for people like me!

I've seen lots of his operas but have a favourite trio: blahhh blah blahCollapse )

Plus...
Almost anything is welcomed, including random bursts of 'I was just listening to Piano Concerto no.21 and I cried like a fangirl!!'

Well you asked for it.  I bawled like a big baby listening to Don Giovanni's canzonetta, an aria sung by Tamino (guess which one =P) and even Il mio tesoro, despite the fact that it's not at all depressing.  Y'know, sometimes music can just be ... like that *hides and turns red*

Ah! I am so psyched! When I first joined Amadeues, I thought it was a community like this..so I never posted..

Anyway, I first discovered Mozart when I sang in the requiem in November. I was incredibly moved, and I'm still discovering Mozart every day. I hope to learn volumes about him.

Oh, this is just great. I finally find the Amadeus community and it leads me to this. Wonderful! I obviously adore this man (why else would I've joined), so it pleases me greatly to see a community dedicated to him. And with such a pretty layout too ;)

Yes, I'm one of those young ladies who christened her car by blasting the Queen of the Night's aria from Die Zauberflote and who spends a great deal of time trying to persuade her chorus teacher to have the chorus sing Confutatis at the next winter concert. *sigh*

I don't think there could be a more perfect name for the community, by the way.

Hi there! I'm new to this community. I was so excited to see that there is a community dedicated to Mozart. Amadeus is a great film, but I wanted to find a community about the man himself! I guess I will introduce myself...

Rock me AmadeusCollapse )

I hope to learn more about Mozart, his music and classical music as I continue to listen to it. I'm not very keen on all the composers, but for some reason I can always tell when I'm listening to Mozart. =) Hope I didn't bore y'all with this post, heh. ♥

Hi, found this while LJ-hopping and thought I'd sign on, as Amadeus is about my all-time favorite movie! Love the costumes, the music, the story - it's perfect! (Sekrit confession: I had a picture of Tom Hulce as Mozart in my locker in high school.) I also love Mozart's music as well.

Does anyone have any Amadeus icons they'd like to share? Or screen-caps that I can work with?

It's really great to see a Mozart community, and since I just joined, I thought I'd post and introduce myself.

So... hello, I'm Shannon. I haven't got too much to say, other than that Mozart is definitely my all-time favourite composer and that, yes, while listening to his pieces, I sometimes do cry like a fangirl. That tends to be during the Requiem Mass (the lacrimosa, specifically) rather than during Piano Concerto no.21, though. ^_^ My very favorite piece is probably the Turkish March, just because it's so fun.

I've got a Mozart portrait that I did a while back that I wanted to post, but since my scanner is dead at the moment, that might have to wait a day or two. Nice to meet you all, though!
